A family owning an apartment in the beautiful part of England, Ilfracombe, on the Devon coast came to us to help them design and code a website to showcase their gorgeous second home and accommodate for people to book holidays via the website.

The Brief

• Create an easy to navigate site
• Allow the features of the apartment and area to be showcased
• Code a contact form so people can ask questions via the website
• A listing of dates and prices is important, and the ability for the owners to be able to easily update it
• A digital booking form and billing system to be build specifically for the website

The Solution

A simple logo was designed and theme suggested by the client for the website.

The navigation was made so that when hovering over a link it showed a dot next to the name to aid navigation, when on a page already the page would be highlighted in the menu in the same way.

A picture gallery was made, including thumbnails of each picture which a visitor to the site could simply click and it would be loaded in the larger viewing area.

Within the navigation column we included a picture box which loaded with a random picture from the picture gallery. This was done as the apartment sells itself very well when you look at it so it was important to use every opportunity to showcase the beauty of the place.

Result

• Daring Technology completed the project well in time and within budget
• Ilfracombe Holidays enjoys lots visitors to it’s website and has had a lot of interest and bookings, and managed to completely fill it’s calendar of dates over the summer of 2009 and is expected to have the same success in the summer of 2010.
